It’s always a joy to see parents and their children having fun together, and Ben Tate and his 8-year-old daughter Zara have taken that joy to a whole new level. The duo has taken the social media platform TikTok by storm, becoming viral stars with their sweet lip-syncing videos.
Ben and Zara first discovered TikTok during stay-at-home orders, and their private account quickly gained the attention of family and friends. Encouraged by the response, they decided to make one of their videos public, and they were amazed by the response.
The videos usually start with an idea from Zara, who loves to share songs and dances she wants to work with. The two have streamlined their process and now create content quickly. The videos, which showcase Zara’s amazing talent, have been well-received globally.
Ben is no stranger to performing himself. He grew up performing since he was 9 years old and was once on an Australian soap opera, so it’s no surprise that his daughter has taken to the spotlight as well.
However, Ben and his wife Lisa are careful to protect Zara online, and she doesn’t have access to their social media accounts. They also don’t allow her to watch comments or anything like that, and Ben and Lisa supervise her when she is watching videos.
Ben said, “Zara doesn’t have any access to our TikTok account or our Instagram account because she’s only 8 years old. So, she doesn’t see comments or anything like that. We look after it as any sensible parent would. We don’t allow her access to it in her own private time, and whenever she is on there watching stuff, it’s it’s under my supervision.”
“We’ve drawn a line in the sand that we don’t want to personalize our content. To each their own, but for us, we like to keep it just a performance thing because we are pretty private people. Also, as a parent, I believe that I’d like to keep everything for Zara as private as possible.”
The two have also been recognized in public by fans, which Zara finds funny. Younger brother Jordan is also interested in making content with them, and Ben and Lisa are excited to see where the channel goes next.

They plan to create more original content with their own voices, including comedy sketches and exciting projects in Australia. They would also love to collaborate with some of their favorite stars, such as Miley Cyrus and Britney Spears.
Ben and Lisa are grateful for the opportunity to work together as a family. They’ve been able to commit to this full-time, and it’s a real blessing to be able to spend so much time with their kids while working at the same time.
