Faith Based Movie ‘Sound Of Freedom’ Tops $10M in Box Office PreSales!

In an impressive display of audience support, the faith-based film “Sound of Freedom” has exceeded the $10 million mark in presales at the box office, just two days ahead of its highly anticipated release in theaters across the United States and Canada. The movie shines a light on the horrors of human trafficking, offering a compelling narrative that aims to entertain and inspire viewers.

The film is a production of Angel Studios, the company responsible for the popular faith-based television series “The Chosen.” Jared Geesey, SVP of Global Distribution for Angel Studios, expressed gratitude towards fans for their continued support of Christian projects. Geesey emphasized that Angel fans have consistently shown their dedication to films that are both entertaining and uplifting, and “Sound of Freedom” is no exception.

The remarkable surge in presales has captured the attention of industry experts, who are astounded by the film’s strong performance. Geesey, however, believes that the Angels, as he refers to Angel Studios’ supporters, are driven to stun audiences beyond the industry. Their objective is to awaken global audiences to the grave issue of child trafficking, with an ultimate goal of selling two million tickets during the opening week. Geesey emphasized that this number symbolizes the two million children who fall victim to the horrors of trafficking each year.

The film stars acclaimed actor Jim Caviezel, known for his role as Jesus in “The Passion of the Christ.” Caviezel portrays the character of Tim Ballard, a federal agent who courageously resigns from his position to embark on a perilous mission of rescuing a young girl from the clutches of sex slavery in South America. Caviezel recently spoke out against what he perceives as “Christian bigotry” occurring worldwide, viewing his new film as a rejection of these troubling sentiments.

During a recent appearance on the Christian podcast “Prophets and Patriots,” Caviezel lamented the acceptance of Christian bigotry as the prevailing form of bigotry in the world. However, he expressed his determination to challenge this narrative, stating that such acceptance is no longer tolerable.

The actor also shared an intriguing anecdote about his past experience with Disney while filming “The Count of Monte Cristo.” He disclosed that Disney requested the removal of references to “God” from the script, but Caviezel firmly resisted the request. Eventually, Disney relented, acknowledging the importance of maintaining the authenticity of the original work.

“Sound of Freedom” is set to hit theaters on July 4, 2023, coinciding with the celebration of Independence Day. With its poignant storyline, talented cast, and the overwhelming support of its dedicated fanbase, the film has garnered significant attention, poised to make a profound impact by raising awareness about the pressing issue of child trafficking.
