American Idol Judge Praises Contestant For Standing Up For Her Beliefs- Watch!

Megan Danielle, a 21-year-old waitress from Georgia, is making waves on American Idol for her boldness in sharing her Christian faith. The reality singing competition’s judges were floored by Danielle’s powerhouse performance of “Go Rest High on That Mountain” in honor of her late grandfather. Judge Luke Bryan first praised her commitment to her faith, saying, “You know you’re never scared to tell everybody your faith.” The country singer also thought the song choice was perfect for Danielle and felt it in his heart. Fellow judge Lionel Richie commended Danielle’s ability to touch audiences with her voice, while pop singer Katy Perry said her grandfather was sending her the message that she was “exactly where she’s meant to be right now.”

“What I love about you— I mean, we’re way beyond loving your voice, is you’re—you know you’re never scared to tell everybody your faith,” Luke Bryan said.

“I just felt in my heart that I couldn’t pick a better one,” he added.

“You have the amazing ability to touch…Your voice is so powerful when it comes down to just telling your story,” Lionel Richie told Danielle. “I know your papa is very very happy with what you did today,” he said, referring to her late grandfather.

This is not the first time Danielle has shared her faith on the show. During auditions week, she was joined by Christian singer Lauren Daigle for a duet of Daigle’s song, “You Say.” Danielle has also performed other Christian songs such as “Holy Water” by Christian band “We the Kingdom” and “Thank God I Do,” also by Daigle. On her social media accounts, Danielle frequently shares encouragement and faith-filled messages with her fans. In a recent post, she wrote, “I was born to share the love of Jesus” and asked for prayer requests.

As the competition continues, we can expect to see more of Danielle’s boldness and talent on display. It is clear that she is exactly where she’s meant to be, and her faith is part of what makes her stand out. May we all be inspired by her example to boldly live out our own faith in whatever spheres of influence we find ourselves in.
