Pop Star Billie Eilish Says Being a Woman is a Constant ‘War’

In a recent interview with Variety, 22-year-old singer Billie Eilish shared her thoughts on the challenges of being a woman in the public eye, describing it as a perpetual “war.” Eilish, who rose to fame as a teenager, expressed her belief that being a woman, particularly a young woman in the public spotlight, is an ongoing struggle that she finds “really unfair.”

The artist addressed the scrutiny she faced, especially regarding the sexualization she experienced at the age of 16. Eilish criticized what she perceived as a double standard in the media, citing instances where wearing revealing clothing led to questions about her intentions. She emphasized her right to express her sexuality and vented her frustration, stating, “I’m literally a being that is sexual sometimes. F— you!”

Eilish pointed out what she sees as a disparity in the treatment of men’s bodies compared to women’s, noting that men face less judgment regardless of their physique.

During the interview, Eilish also took the opportunity to promote her mother’s plant-based nonprofit charity, Support + Feed. She encouraged people to consider the connection between the meat industry and what she referred to as “systemic” issues, including racism. Eilish expressed concern about food injustice and systemic racism, urging awareness of these issues.

Fox News Digital reached out to a representative for Billie Eilish for comment but did not receive a response at the time of publication. The interview reflects Eilish’s perspective on the challenges faced by women in the public eye and her advocacy for social issues, particularly in relation to her mother’s charity work and concerns about the meat industry.
