Johnny Depp Reportedly Back to Old Habits on Set of New Film

Johnny Depp has made headlines time and time again for his tumultuous behavior both on and off the set. His latest venture, the historical drama Jeanne du Barry, is proving to be no exception. Reports have surfaced that Depp and director Maïwen Le Besco are clashing on the set, with Depp allegedly not showing up to set on time.

According to WION News,

In a recent interview, French showbiz commentator Bernard Montield revealed how Johnny Depp had several arguments with Maïwenn because of timing issues. He said, “Johnny Depp is an excellent actor when he comes on the set… Except that sometimes the team is ready at 6 am and no one comes. So, afterward, Maïwenn gets angry and the next day, it is she who does not come and there is Johnny Depp… It’s madness. They’re (expletive) off.””

It’s not surprising that Depp’s bad behavior is causing controversy yet again. After all, Depp’s tardiness and alleged substance abuse were part of the problems on the set of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer even commented that Depp was under a lot of pressure at the time and that helicopters were following him home and there were hundreds of media outside his gates.

This summer, Depp’s alleged bad behavior was also a topic of discussion in his defamation trial against Amber Heard. Heard’s attorney, Roberta Kaplan, argued that Depp’s “reputation for being a difficult actor, a chronic lateness and a substance abuser was well known in Hollywood”.

Tracey Jacobs, who testified that she worked as the actor’s agent for decades, reportedly claimed that she had explained to Depp that his consistent lateness and substance use were hurting his career.

According to CNN Jacobs said, “His star had dimmed due to it getting harder to get him jobs given the reputation that he’d acquired due to his lateness and other things… People were talking and the question was out there about his behavior.”

It’s clear that Depp’s history of bad behavior is catching up to him, as is his lack of accountability. Despite all the drama and his ongoing legal battles, Depp still seems to be getting movie roles, suggesting that he isn’t learning his lesson and is still making the same mistakes.

It’s unfortunate that this is how Depp continues to operate, especially after his much-publicized trial this year. Unfortunately, the only person who can change his behavior is Depp himself, and it doesn’t look like he’s ready to do that any time soon.
