Chris Pratt has made headlines recently and more than once! This guy has not only captured our hearts with his charm and talent but has also been open about his Christian faith. However, it seems that his candidness has landed him in hot water, with critics aiming their arrows at him. But you know what? Pratt isn’t one to back down.
In an interview with Page Six, Pratt revealed his secret to handling the constant backlash. Pratt shared that he often reflects on the story of Jesus and the suffering he endured. This reminds him that, as a Christian, facing hatred is par for the course. Talk about staying strong in the face of adversity!
Acknowledging the criticism he’s received for his faith, Pratt quoted John 15:18 through 20, emphasizing that if he were of this world, he would be loved by all. But, as it turns out, he’s chosen to live outside the norms of this world, just like Jesus did. Pratt has a clear understanding that hatred is nothing new, and he finds solace in knowing that even 2,000 years ago, people harbored animosity toward Jesus himself. Quite the perspective, right?
But here’s where Pratt’s resilience and upbeat attitude shine through. When dealing with hateful comments, he handles them just like anything else in life.
Pratt said, “Like a rhino, stick your head down, you keep driving forward, you have thick skin and if anyone gets in your way, you stick the horn right up their a**!”
“When it comes to rejection, I was trained in the crucible of door-to-door sales some 25 years ago. So, you can’t turn me away,” Pratt joked, explaining that his experience as a salesman had actually helped him in his film career. “[Sales] is a very hard job and it’s not dissimilar to acting or at least auditioning. You gotta collect nine ‘no’s’ to get one ‘yes.’”
Speaking of success, Pratt’s latest Marvel film, “Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3,” has been making waves at the box office. After just one weekend, it has already amassed over $280 million worldwide. Talk about a blockbuster! And let’s not forget that just last month, his movie “Super Mario Bros.” became the first film of 2023 to gross over $1 billion. This guy sure knows how to bring in the big bucks!
