Eva Mendes has made it clear that she won’t make appearances with her longtime partner Ryan Gosling on the red carpet for the upcoming Barbie movie premieres. Her reason for not attending is that she doesn’t want to “expose” their private life.
The couple, who have been together for over 12 years, has only appeared on a red carpet once together and that was for their 2012 movie The Place Beyond The Pines. When a fan asked if they would make an appearance together for Barbie, Eva replied, “we don’t do those things together.”
She went on to explain that she is “not comfortable” with “exposing our very private life that we value”, adding that the only photos she is “comfortable” sharing with the world are images that are “already out there”.
“Oh wait – for those who may catch me in a ‘lie,'” she said, “we only were on the red carpet together once when promoting [The Place Beyond the Pines].”
However, despite not appearing on the red carpet together, Eva has not ruled out the possibility of them reuniting on the big screen again. She said that she is “still dying to do another movie with him”.
On her Instagram page, Eva posted a clip from their movie together saying, “Magic is Real.
We did not meet on set. The magic started way before but here’s a little magic captured on camera. Gracias to the increíble director Derek Cianfrance ????”

The couple have two children, Amada, 6, and Esmeralda, 8, and have kept their relationship fiercely private throughout the years. In fact, it was only last November that Eva sparked speculation of them being married when she referred to him as her husband.
The next day, Eva addressed the speculation while on The Kyle and Jackie O Show. When asked if the rumor was true that they had secretly tied the knot, she replied, “But who says we weren’t already?”
