‘Defiant’ Hero Israeli Hostage Gives Account Of What She Did To Hamas Leader

After being held captive for 53 days by Hamas terrorists in Gaza, an Israeli woman, Rimon Kirsht, has emerged as a hero for her defiant stance during her release. The 36-year-old woman, who was held alongside her husband, Yagev, was finally reunited with her family on Sunday.

Kirsht’s fearless actions in the face of her captors have sparked praise and admiration on social media. In a video that has been widely shared, Kirsht can be seen staring down an armed Hamas terrorist who was supposed to escort her to the Israeli officials waiting for her release. She refused to be touched and briefly exchanged words with the terrorist, making it clear that she did not want to be released without her husband.

Israeli journalist, Yoseph Haddad, took to Twitter to commend Kirsht, calling her a hero. He shared, “How much of a hero is Rimon Kirsht? In Hamas’ captivity, she was with her partner. When terrorists came to her yesterday before she was released, she wouldn’t agree to be released without him until they forced her.” He went on to praise her for standing strong and proud during the transfer to the Red Cross.

Other social media users joined in praising Kirsht’s courage and determination. Actress, Tracy-Ann Oberman, referred to her as a queen, and added, “The balls and chutzpah to swagger off like this. We are not worthy.” The viral footage has garnered attention from people all over the world and Kirsht’s actions have been hailed as an act of bravery.

According to Israel Hayom, Kirsht was released against her own objections, without her husband who remains in the custody of Hamas terrorists. Kirsht’s family members revealed that she had refused to leave without her husband, and was only persuaded to do so when the terrorists threatened to drag her on the floor.
