‘The Voice’ Gets a New Coach—And It’s Not Who You Think!

Country music superstar Blake Shelton’s departure from “The Voice” may be looming, but his successor is wasting no time making her presence felt. Holly Brand, a talented singer from Team Kelly, left the coaches and audience spellbound with her emotional rendition of Reba McEntire’s hit song “Rumor Has It” during the live semifinals on Monday night.

The surprise of the evening came when Reba McEntire, who had previously served as an adviser to the coaches this season, took the stage and occupied Shelton’s iconic red swivel chair. Host Carson Daly announced that McEntire would be joining the upcoming 24th season of the popular NBC singing competition as a full-time coach, alongside Niall Horan and returning coaches Gwen Stefani and John Legend. Daly humorously quipped, “Where’d Blake go? Who cares? We’re so happy to have you. You’re already a member of ‘The Voice’ family, but this makes it official.”

Clarkson, a fellow coach, praised Holly Brand for her impressive performance of a challenging Reba McEntire song. She commended Brand for flawlessly executing the song’s wide range and believed that McEntire herself would be proud of the rendition. Horan also expressed his admiration, applauding Brand for showcasing different facets of her vocal abilities and delivering an impeccable performance that showcased previously unheard aspects of her voice.

McEntire, visibly thrilled about her extended involvement with “The Voice,” expressed her gratitude to the coaches and the warm reception she received. She thanked them for their hospitality earlier in the season and eagerly anticipated the opportunity to form her own team in the upcoming season. However, Shelton playfully interjected, reminding McEntire that his time on the show wasn’t quite over yet. McEntire, with a smile, responded that she liked the chair and had no intention of leaving it just yet.

With McEntire’s addition to the coaching panel next season, “The Voice” is sure to gain even more star power and draw in fans of the iconic country singer. The show continues to captivate audiences with its talented contestants and renowned coaches, creating memorable moments and showcasing exceptional vocal performances. As Season 23 draws to a close, viewers eagerly anticipate the final episodes, culminating in the crowning of the next champion.
