As someone who’s always been fascinated by the lives of Hollywood legends, I was thrilled to read about Jane Fonda’s latest accomplishments. At 85 years old, Fonda is proving that age is just a number and that life can be even more fulfilling as we get older.
The Oscar-winning star has not one, but four films coming out this year, including the highly-anticipated sequel to her hit rom-com, Book Club. And from the sounds of it, filming the movie with co-stars Diane Keaton, Candice Bergen, and Mary Steenburgen in Italy was nothing short of a dream come true.
What I love most about Fonda’s story is her emphasis on the importance of friendships, especially among women. As someone who’s always believed that there’s nothing better than a group of supportive girlfriends, I was heartened to hear Fonda say that working with her co-stars was “everything I imagined women’s friendships can be.” It’s a reminder that even in the cutthroat world of Hollywood, women can still come together to create something beautiful.
But Fonda’s accomplishments don’t stop there. In addition to her busy acting schedule, she’s also been hard at work fighting for the planet through her activism work with Fire Drill Fridays and the Jane Fonda Climate PAC. It’s inspiring to see someone who’s achieved so much in her career still working tirelessly to make the world a better place.
And of course, it wouldn’t be a proper Madison Lee blog post without some fashion talk. Fonda has always been known for her impeccable sense of style, and she continues to inspire with her bold fashion choices and flawless red carpet-looks. I can only hope to look half as good as she does when I’m her age!
But perhaps the most inspiring part of Fonda’s story is her resilience in the face of adversity. From her battles with cancer to the ups and downs of her personal life, Fonda has never let anything hold her back. As she says, “I’ve been resilient all my life.” It’s a reminder that even when things get tough, we have the power to persevere and come out stronger on the other side.
