Pop singer Bebe Rexha endured a frightening incident during her concert in New York City on Sunday, when a fan threw a cell phone that struck her in the head, causing injury. The incident occurred at the Rooftop at Pier 17, where Rexha was performing as part of her “Best F’n Night of My Life” tour.
Video footage shared by concertgoers on social media captured the moment when Rexha was hit by the phone. She could be seen grabbing her face in pain and falling to her knees, prompting the crew to swiftly assist her. Following the incident, the singer took to Instagram to reassure her fans, sharing two close-up photos of the injury to her eye and stating, “I’m good.”
According to People magazine, a man in the audience was promptly apprehended and charged with felony assault for using his cell phone as a weapon. The senseless act not only disrupted the concert but also posed a serious risk to the artist’s well-being.
Supporters of Bebe Rexha expressed their shock and concern on social media, condemning the perpetrator’s actions and wishing the singer a swift recovery. One Twitter user expressed their disbelief, stating, “We were all having a hell of a good time and so was Bebe, we were all having a blast, I mean who would even do that??? We hope you’re okay.” Another fan lamented that an otherwise exceptional show had been marred by the thoughtless behavior of one individual.
Despite the incident, Rexha remains determined to continue her tour, with scheduled performances in Philadelphia, Washington DC, Atlanta, Orlando, and Houston. Fans and followers have rallied around her, offering messages of support and expressing their belief that she deserves better treatment.
