Well, here’s a story that sounds like it came straight out of an action movie — but nope, it happened in broad daylight, right in the middle of West Hollywood.
Imagine it’s just after lunch on a Wednesday, people are going about their day, and suddenly a would-be thief jumps out of a car with a gun, thinking he’s about to score a Rolex. What he didn’t know? His “victim” was a retired professional wrestler. And that mistake changed everything.
According to authorities and eyewitness accounts, this all went down around 1pm on North Sweetzer Avenue, just a stone’s throw from West Hollywood City Hall. The attacker jumped out of a black sedan, weapon in hand, ready to intimidate and take what he came for. But that plan unraveled quickly.
The ex-wrestler, who chose to stay anonymous, didn’t flinch. He used instincts honed over years in the ring, swiftly disarmed the mugger, and pinned him to the pavement. The guy tried to get up, but the former athlete had him locked down.
And here’s where it gets even more real — the gun was loaded. As the chamber was pulled back, a round popped out. This wasn’t a bluff. This could’ve ended very differently.
But it didn’t end there. The wrestler’s girlfriend rushed into the fray, grabbed the gun off the ground, and hurled it over a fence — just to be sure it couldn’t be used again.
This whole showdown unfolded in front of shocked neighbors and one man, Patrick McCloskey, who was working from home. He heard the commotion, ran outside, and witnessed the tail end of the chaos.
Police arrived and arrested the would-be robber. Unfortunately, the getaway driver peeled off and is still at large. But let’s be real — this mugger picked the wrong target.
Witnesses said the ex-wrestler showed “no mercy,” and by the time deputies got there, the would-be thief was beaten, bruised, and definitely not going anywhere.
Charges are still pending, but the message is loud and clear: sometimes, the bad guy gets bodied in real life too.
