Legendary Actor Dick Van Dyke, 96, Takes A Joy Ride Around Malibu In Golf Cart

Legendary actor, Dick Van Dyke was seen taking a ride on a golf cart while shopping with his wife Arlene Silver on Monday in Malibu, California.

The 96-year-old television and movie star wore a light blue sweater, dark pants, and black slippers while riding shotgun in the cart with Arlene, 51.

Van Dyke, known for his generosity and multiple charity organizations, was seen earlier this month giving away money to the homeless and providing winter coats for the needy in Malibu.

The Mary Poppins and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang actor handed out $5 bills and took time to chat with several workers and spread joy to homeless people nearby.

Dick Van Dyke and his former make-up artist Arlene were married in February 2012 when he was 86 years old and she was just 40 years old.

Van Dyke has an award-winning career spanning over seven decades in film, television, and stage.

Van Dyke has won multiple Emmys, a Grammy, and a Tony Award for Best Actor in the Broadway musical Bye Bye Birdie just to name a few.

Van Dyke became most famous when he portrayed the role of Rob Petrie on the CBS television sitcom The Dick Van Dyke Show.

His other movies include the theatrical version of Bye Bye Birdie in 1963, Mary Poppins in 1964, and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in 1968.

Van Dyke also appeared in the 2018 sequel- Mary Poppins Returns as Mr. Dawes Jr. In the original 1964 version, Van Dyke portrayed a chimney sweep and jack-of-all-trades – Bert.

In 2013, Van Dyke was honored with the SAG Life Achievement Award and in 2021 was a recipient of the Kennedy Center Honors for his lifetime contribution to American culture.

Dick Van Dyke was married to Margie Willett from 1948 to 1984. Together, they had four children, Carrie, Christian, Stacy, and Barry.’

Barry starred with his father in a comedy medical crime drama, ‘Diagnosis: Murder’ that aired from 1993 to 2001 on CBS.
