Ed Sheeran Moves To USA

Ed Sheeran is packing up and heading west—permanently. Yep, the British megastar, known for hit after hit and his quiet countryside life in Suffolk, is making a major life pivot and moving to the United States with his family. And no, this isn’t just a tour pit stop. He’s not dipping in and out. He’s settling.

During a recent appearance on “The 2 Johnnies Podcast”, Sheeran said it point blank: “I’m just about to move to America. I feel like I might be the only person moving to America.” And let’s be real—that’s not just a throwaway comment.

At a time when A-listers like Ellen DeGeneres and Rosie O’Donnell are “leaving” the U.S., Sheeran’s decision to plant roots here is raising some eyebrows and sparking some curiosity. Why now?

Well, it turns out, there’s a plan. A very musical one.

Ed has been dropping hints all year long about his next chapter—one that involves more than just a zip code change. He’s eyeing a full-blown pivot into country music, and his sights are set on Nashville. “Nashville is my favorite city in the States,” he told “Call Her Daddy” host Alex Cooper. “It’s always been my end goal to move to Nashville and transition to country.”

This isn’t some new whim. Sheeran’s been singing Nashville’s praises for years. Back in 2013, he called the city full of “very, very nice people” and even noted that celebrity doesn’t carry the same weight there. “Even if they knew who you were, I don’t think they’d care. They’d just be like, ‘Eh,’” he laughed.

So while other stars are jetting off to escape political shifts—Ellen even admitted Trump’s 2024 reelection sealed her decision to leave—Ed is doing the opposite. He’s coming to America.

With a new album, “Play”, dropping this week and a tour already lined up, the timing makes sense. And with two young daughters and wife Cherry Seaborn in tow, the move looks like more than just career strategy—it’s a lifestyle shift.

It’s a bold one, too. In his own words, once you go country, “you can’t transition back.” And it sounds like Sheeran has no plans to. He’s diving in boots-first, guitar in hand, family behind him.

So while others are heading for the exits, Ed Sheeran is walking straight through the front door of American life—and he’s bringing a new sound with him.
