In a recent Netflix comedy special, Tom Brady was roasted by a star-studded audience including comedians, former teammates, and other NFL legends. However, there was one notable absence from the guest list – Eli Manning.
Manning, who famously defeated Brady’s Patriots in two Super Bowls, was nowhere to be seen at the event. But his absence didn’t go unnoticed, as Brady made sure to take a playful jab at him during his speech, saying “F— you” to him and Giants fans.
But Manning had a perfect response to why he wasn’t in attendance. Taking to social media, he wrote, “I thought about attending the Roast of Tom Brady last night, but I did not want to Roast him for a 3rd time!!”
This witty retort perfectly captures Manning’s self-deprecating humor and good-natured rivalry with Brady.
Despite Manning’s absence, there were plenty of other familiar faces at the roast, including Peyton Manning – Eli’s older brother and another NFL legend.
Peyton welcomed Brady to the stage and even joined in on the roasting. He was joined by Patriots owner Robert Kraft and former coach Bill Belichick, marking the first time the two have been seen together since parting ways earlier this offseason.
But it wasn’t just Manning that Brady was taking shots at. He also poked fun at the infamous “Deflategate” scandal, jokingly asking where NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell was in the audience.
And it wasn’t all jokes for Brady either. The audience also got to see him share a heartwarming moment with his former teammates and coaches, as well as putting his impressive Super Bowl rings on display.
The highlight of the night may have been when comedian Kevin Hart convinced Kraft and Belichick to take a picture together, burying the hatchet between the two after their tumultuous break up.
And Kraft didn’t stop there – he even asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to return his Super Bowl ring, which was infamously “borrowed” during a meeting in 2005.
