Well, folks, this one is straight out of a true crime special—except it’s real, and it involves one of paranormal TV’s most recognizable faces. “Ghost Adventures” star Aaron Goodwin, known for hunting ghosts and chasing the supernatural, may have narrowly escaped a real-life horror of his own: an alleged murder-for-hire plot orchestrated by none other than his own wife, Victoria Goodwin.
According to police reports, Victoria, 32, was arrested on March 6 in Clark County, Nevada, on charges of Solicitation to Commit Murder and Murder Conspiracy. Authorities claim she had been in communication with an inmate in a Florida prison last fall, allegedly scheming to have Aaron, 48, killed while he was on location filming the show. And the details? Absolutely chilling.
Law enforcement says Victoria wasn’t looking for a divorce—she was looking for a “permanent” solution. In messages exchanged with the inmate, she reportedly asked, ““Am I a bad person? Because I chose to end his existence. Not divorce.”” That’s about as damning as it gets.
So how was this sinister plan uncovered? Well, police say the inmate’s phone was seized and searched by prison officials, revealing messages about the alleged hit. Victoria had supposedly shared Aaron’s filming schedule and location details, and officials claim she had even agreed to pay a total of $11,515 for the hit, with an initial $2,500 deposit. At one point, the inmate allegedly texted an associate, ““He’s asleep right now in the hotel room… I need to know what’s going on. Can I get an update? Was it done?””
Let that sink in. While Aaron was out investigating paranormal activity, his wife was allegedly trying to ensure he’d never come home.
Victoria, who remains in custody on $100,000 bail, has denied everything. She reportedly told investigators that she was merely “daydreaming or fantasizing about being without her husband.” But daydreaming doesn’t usually involve wire transfers and detailed instructions.
For Aaron, the betrayal is staggering. Friends say he was completely blindsided, believing he was in a happy marriage.
As recently as Valentine’s Day, he posted a seemingly loving tribute to his wife, sharing a picture from a miniature golf outing with the caption, ““My valentine always beats me at mini golf.”” Fans quickly flooded his social media with comments of shock and support, with one bluntly writing, ““Well, this didn’t age well…””
Now, as the reality of the situation sets in, Aaron is reportedly leaning on close friends like fellow investigator Zak Bagans for support. And while he’s spent his career chasing ghosts, this may be the scariest ordeal he’s ever faced.
The case is still unfolding, but one thing is certain—this isn’t the kind of haunting Aaron Goodwin ever expected to be dealing with.
