Okay, so imagine this: You’re waiting for a package, you hear the Amazon truck pull up, you check your camera, and instead of just dropping off your order and walking away, the driver decides to take your cat.
Yeah, not a joke. That’s exactly what happened to a pet owner in Lakewood, California — and it’s all on video.
This bizarre and honestly upsetting incident took place on December 11th, 2025. Security footage shows the driver, clearly wearing an Amazon vest, placing a package on the porch like normal. But then things take a wild left turn.
The driver spots a cat — Piper — lounging nearby. At first, there’s a half-hearted attempt to grab her, and she’s not having it. Totally normal cat behavior, right? She resists. So the driver walks off… and then turns back around.
The second attempt? Not so gentle. The driver grabs Piper by the neck and just walks off. With the cat. No explanation. No note. Nothing. Just your standard “thanks for your order, now I’ll be taking your feline too” situation.
Piper’s owner, understandably heartbroken and furious, has turned to social media and local news outlets in hopes of getting Piper home safely.
She’s already working with Amazon and local authorities, but the search isn’t going well.
California: an Amazon driver stole a pet cat from the front lawn of a family home and carried it off aggressively. Local police told the owner it might be months until officers investigate this case. Amazon knows who it was but said they can’t reach him.pic.twitter.com/WXoV7qyPhX

Amazon apparently knows who the driver is but, wait for it… can’t reach them. That’s right — the person who literally delivered a package to someone’s house and stole their pet is suddenly unreachable.
Now the internet is stepping in. The Facebook post with the video is making the rounds, and viewers are being urged to share it like crazy. Because at this point, the only way Piper’s getting home might be through the power of viral outrage.
So if you know anything, saw anything, or even think you’ve seen Piper — check that Facebook post and reach out. Someone’s pet is missing, and a whole lot of people are not okay with how that happened.
