Los Angeles, CA – Dancing with the Stars judge Derek Hough couldn’t be prouder of his wife, Hayley Erbert, who recently underwent emergency surgery after suffering a cranial hematoma. The 38-year-old dancer spoke about his wife’s health recovery at the Los Angeles premiere of This Is Me… Now: A Love Story, in which he stars alongside Jennifer Lopez, on Tuesday.
Hough expressed his awe for his wife’s strength, stating that he knew she was strong when he married her, but he didn’t realize just how strong until now. “I’m just, I really am in awe of her everyday,” he said. “She’s incredible. She really is a miracle and I don’t really throw that word around lightly, but she really is.”
On December 7th, 2023, Erbert underwent an “emergency craniectomy” after suffering a cranial hematoma during the pair’s Symphony of Dance tour stop in Washington, D.C. She then underwent further surgery on December 20th to replace a large portion of her skull that was removed during the initial craniectomy.
