31 Year Old Netflix Star Gets Shocking Diagnosis!

Actor and ballet dancer Barton Cowperthwaite, recognized for his role in “Tiny Pretty Things,” revealed on Instagram that he has been diagnosed with at least a stage 2 glioma, a sizable brain tumor. Gliomas are cell growths originating in the brain or spinal cord, sharing similarities with healthy glial cells. As the tumor develops, it may press on brain or spinal cord tissue, causing various symptoms, such as headaches, nausea, confusion, memory loss, personality changes, vision problems, speech difficulties, and seizures.

Cowperthwaite disclosed that he had been experiencing seizures over the past eight weeks, leading to a CAT scan in the ER that unveiled the abnormality. He expressed confidence in the medical team’s ability to remove a significant portion of the tumor through brain surgery, followed by rehabilitation.

The 31-year-old actor is scheduled for surgery this week and conveyed his appreciation for the outpouring of support from friends, family, and fans. His partner, Sophie Thoerner, expressed love and support in the comments, with other celebrities like Jesse Tyler Ferguson and co-star Casimere Jollette sharing messages of encouragement.

In addition to health updates, Cowperthwaite shared details about a GoFundMe page aimed at assisting with expenses during his recovery, covering essentials like food, rent, and additional medical costs not covered by insurance. The funds raised will also provide support for his family as they contribute to his care during the recovery process.

Cowperthwaite’s diverse television credits include roles in “Fosse/Verdon,” “Girls5Eva,” and “Center Stage: On Pointe.”
